MadCap Theaters Branding
The Mill Avenue’s Downtown Tempe Community was given the opportunity to occupy the space that was once known as the Harkins Theaters on Mill. The DTC thought this would be a great chance to bring a little more culture, entertainment and breath some life into the downtown area, that has been lacking for many years. The theaters would be used to offer alternative performance space and would be known as Mill Avenue District Community Arts Project (MADCAP Theaters).
Logoall, located in the heart of the downtown community, jumped at the chance to be a part of this “reinvigoration”. Since we pride ourselves on our branding it was clear what service we would offer… the logo and branding.
With little feedback from the client (DTC) it was pretty clear the direction they wanted to go. The logo was chosen from the first set of proofs that was sent.
MadCap Theaters has brought a great cultural presence to the area, we only hope they can stay awhile.

The Mad Cap Theaters logo design is nice and clean. Nice use spot color and graphic balance.
The culture in Downtown Tempe has always been overly rich with culture. As a native of Tempe, Arizona, I have seen the same thing happen every few years. Creative individuals come together to produce artwork, programs and business organizations to increase our cultural diversity in the area, and then a large corporation gets involved and the idea looses its luster.
We wish MadCap Theater success in the new setup.
Thanks for the comments Travis.
You are correct, the culture is rich… but the small shops that lend to that culture are struggling and in some cases closing up.
I remember as a youth, there was a certain draw to this part of town that is not typically seen here in Arizona, that seems to have disappeared for the most part.
The communities efforts are strong, let’s hope they don’t go unrewarded.
